Naturopathic Medicine

Medicine that reads the whole story.

Naturopathic medicine grounded in clinical assessment and the considered use of botanical, nutritional, and lifestyle therapies — from women’s health and hormones to digestion, and healthy aging.

Hi, I’m Dr. Katia De Marco, ND

I’m a licensed naturopathic doctor in Victoria, BC. I work with patients across Greater Victoria and Vancouver Island, combining modern clinical assessment with traditional naturopathic medicine to address the root causes of how you feel — not just the symptoms on the surface.

About

One of my fundamental roles as a naturopathic doctor is to help patients understand the root cause of their health concerns, and to support them in feeling empowered to take charge of their health.

I work with patients from all stages of life, and treat a variety of health concerns, including: women’s reproductive, hormonal, and menstrual complaints, healthy aging, fatigue and burnout, autoimmunity, and digestive health.  I use conventional medical testing and assessment alongside holistic, traditional medicine to treat each person as a whole.

The very nature of human existence is beautiful and intricate; it is so much more than the sum of it’s individual parts. Understanding how body / mind / spirit / culture / society / environment come together as the expression of a person’s health gives a clearer picture of the root causes of dis-ease and allows us to start making – at each patient’s individual pace – the changes that lead back to optimal health and balance.

Clinical Offerings

Naturopathic Services

Naturopathic Consult

The foundation of the practice. A thorough initial assessment covering history, symptoms, lab work, and lifestyle, followed by a clear treatment plan you can actually follow.

Acupuncture

Acupuncture used for pain, hormonal regulation, digestive concerns, and stress-related conditions. Sessions are calm, considered, and built into a broader treatment plan.

IV Therapy

Intravenous nutrient therapy and intramuscular iron, vitamin B12, and other targeted injections for patients with documented deficiencies, fatigue, or absorption challenges.

Lab Testing

Conventional bloodwork, specialty hormone panels, food sensitivity testing, and functional medicine assessments. Ordered when they'll change the plan, never as a default.

HRT

Hormone replacement therapy for perimenopause, menopause, and related concerns. Prescribed and monitored within a comprehensive treatment framework.

Botanical Medicine

Herbal formulations drawn from the materia medica tradition, selected and prepared to support the specific therapeutic goals of each patient.

Why Naturopathic Medicine

Medical Testing and Assessment Combined With Holistic, Traditional Medicine

Conventional medicine is excellent at acute care and crisis intervention. It’s less equipped to answer the slower, harder questions — why am I tired all the time, why has my cycle changed, why do I feel inflamed, why isn’t this resolving. Naturopathic medicine is built for those questions: trained in clinical assessment and lab interpretation, but oriented toward root cause rather than symptom suppression.

Root-Cause Investigation

A complete picture of your health requires more than a 10-minute appointment. I take the time to look at history, environment, labs, and lifestyle together, so we can get a more holistic view of your health.

Evidence-Informed Tradition

Botanical medicine, acupuncture, and nutritional therapy have centuries of clinical observation behind them. Used with modern testing and assessment, they form a complete, considered approach to medicine.
